Event Date
UC San Francisco (UCSF), UC Davis and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), have formed a Tri-Institutional Partnership on Microbiome Research to harness the collective strengths of these three outstanding institutions in human health, agriculture, environmental research, veterinary medicine, engineering, and computational science to inspire synergies across microbiome research. With data scientists and biological researchers working together from the beginning to co-design and execute experiments, the Tri-Institutional Partnership Microbiome Initiative promises to catalyze and fund novel, bold, and potentially transformative collaborative research. We enthusiastically invite your participation in this partnership.
The Tri-Institutional Partnership on Microbiome Research will convene an all-day workshop on Feb. 5, 2020 at the Integrative Genomics Building at LBNL. This workshop will foster cross-institutional interaction and will be followed by a substantive seed grant opportunity supported by all three institutions. The focus of this collaborative effort will be to tackle the major gaps in microbiome knowledge and technology that have been identified by the Microbiome Interagency Working Group’s FY2018-2022 Strategic Plan for Microbiome Research, with the goal of positioning the institutions favorably for follow-on extramural funding.
The Feb 5th workshop will include:
- RFA Announcement
- Flash Talks on existing research efforts & topics of interest
- Breakout sessions to facilitate team formation and proposal generation
Please note: security and parking constraints at LBNL require all participants to register ahead of time. Transportation will be provided from each campus.
Participating Partners:
